Baptist Faith and Message
As a Southern Baptist church, we are autonomous in that no Southern Baptist church is ruled by or under the authority of any church hierarchy. We are ruled, governed, and led by the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the head of the church (Colossians 1:18). We believe in the inspired Word of God, which was written by human authors divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit of God. With God as it's author, it has salvation for its end and is truth without any mixture of error. We believe that the Scriptures reveal to us, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried.
We believe that we are called to cooperate with others, as the early New Testament churches did, to carry forth the missionary, educational and benevolent ministries of the church for the extension of Christ's Kingdom. We accomplish this cooperation by prayerfully and financially supporting the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention, as well as the Georgia Baptist Convention and the Friendship Baptist Association. |
